Mayor resigns, claiming brainwashing by satanists!

This is a story that reads like it came straight out of the old Weekly World News pages, but no, this story comes from respectable local newspapers and local TV as well.

A local mayor in Centerton, Arkansas has resigned after revealing that he was abducted and brainwashed by satanists back in the 1970s.

This is one of those that belongs in the Ridiculous News File, and needs absolutely no punchline of any kind from me.

"Sex mags" on sale in US military stores... so what?

United Press International is reporting that the American Family Association and other anti-pornography groups are claiming that pornographic magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse are on sale in US military stores.

This stems back to 1996 when Congress passed the Military Honour and Decency Act, which prohibited sale of sexually explicit magaizines in US military stores.

Quite honestly, this belongs in the Ridiculous News File, because there is no issue here. This is a piece of self promotion by those who believe that censorship is not only good, but should be encouraged. I'd rather discourage censorship and let the individual choose rather than have governments or quangos or self appointed censors dictating what I can and cannot read or see.

The Ridiculous News File: Lawsuit filed against God. God Responds!!!

Earlier this week, a Nebraska State Senator filed a lawsuit, against God!

This in itself, is enough for ridicule, and even the Senator himself admits this, and claims this is exactly his point.

But today, the story takes a turn for the even more ridiculous!

God responded!

Okay, so somebody has a sense of humour, even going so far as to name St Michael the Archangel as a witness!

But, I think the point has been well made, the story should come to an end here as it is totally... Ridiculous!
