Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points Memo: Race baiting part deux!

Why do one story once when you can do the same subject repeatedly and really reinforce your point, even if it is wrong.  It's the old idea of if you repeat something often enough, people will accept it as fact.

He even sends another producer-monkey to do an ambush!

Make no mistake, race-baiters are BillO's "enemy du jour" and he will stop at nothing to make sure you get the idea that race is an issue in this election, even though Barack Obama has done everything possible to minimize it as an issue.

Another strong factor for O'Reilly

TV Newser has reported the latest Cable News Ratings for Halloween night, and it seems that everybody's favourite right wing ghoul, Bill O'Reilly had a real treat that night. Over 2.9 million viewers tuned into his show in total at 8pm ET. That is an incredibly strong number, one of O'Reilly's best ever ratings.

Hannity and Colmes managed to hold onto just over 2 million of those viewers at 9pm, which again is incredibly good. Overall in Prime Time, Fox News Channel managed to register an impressive 2.125 million viewers, which again is very impressive.

Fox News Channel will never be my first choice for news and information, but unlike some on the left, I will never completely dismiss it out of hand either. Like any news source, especially newspapers, you have to learn what is fact and what is spin and propoganda. Fox News is very much the newspaper of the airwaves, with a distinct agenda and bias, one which can also be found in the New York Post or the Sun in the UK and Ireland. Learn to "read" and "decipher" that agenda, and you can understand what is truly important news and what is just editorialising.

Useful tips for defending yourself against the Falafel Guy!

On yesterday's MSNBC Countdown with Keith Olbermann, as the number 3 story, was a selection of tips about how do defend yourself against a fatwa from your friend and mine, the awful falafel! Crooks and Liars has the story.

I love this. This is so damned funny. I have taken the tips from this feature and incorporated it into my "Anti-Biased News Defence Strategy". I already have my loofah, so I can challenge Falafel Guy to a duel if needs be!

And yes, I do expect Fox Security or one of Bill O'Reilly's producers on my doorstep sometime soon!!!
