I regularly report on the ratings from BARB, and am always keeping an eye out for information about new channels launching. Well, the AGB Neilsen Media Research site reports on channels that are being added to the BARB ratings in the next couple of months.
Playhouse Disney Plus, which launched on the EPG earlier this week, has been added today, whilst on Monday, Paramount Comedy 2 +1 will be added to BARB. On Wednesday, the Sky Travel channels rebranding will be done, with MTV R being added the following day.
On the 29th November, the eagerly awaited Setanta Sports News will be added, with Sumo TV and SA Direct TV being added on the 1st December and Luxe TV UK on the 3rd December.
As soon as I find any more information on any of this, I will report back.

A new Knight Rider!
Digital Spy have reported that a new lead has been cast for a re-imagining of Knight Rider,which will be a 2-hour TV movie, airing on NBC in the US.
If you remember Knight Rider, it starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight and William Daniels as the vocie of KITT, the supercar that accompanied Michael on his adventures. There was a spin off movie as well, Knight Rider 2000. I would like to see this, but I am always sceptical about producers bringing back ideas like this. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, it falls flat as a pancake. I sincerely hope it doesn't.

Australia Votes 2007: Online coverage news
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation have confirmed that they will be streaming their ABC Television coverage of the Australian Federal Election from 6pm EST, which I believe is 5am UK Time on Saturday morning.
Not sure yet if BBC Parliament will relay coverage, or whether BBC News 24 and/or BBC World will provide some form of coverage as well. I definitely think that there will be an election programme as well on ABC Radio National and/or ABC NewsRadio, which are both streamed live online anyway.

CNNI World News and CNN's Out In The Open swap studios!
CNN Observations reports that CNN International's World News, presented this time by Isha Sesay, came from the CNN domestic newsroom, whilst CNN domestic's Out In The Open, came from the CNN International set!
Not sure why this happened, but I have some ideas. Perhaps, they were testing the CNN International set design on a domestic programme. The new CNNI sets in Atlanta, London and Hong Kong have not been well recieved by some viewers, compared with the old designs which had the respective newsrooms as backdrops.
Or they could have been some other strange reason that we do not yet know of. If anybody has any knowledge why this was, or any captures, leave us a comment here at Viewpoint.

Vamp it up as a glamour goth siren
If you were inspired by Kate Beckinsale's pictures earlier, or just like the idea of vamping it up every whit and while, then AOL UK has some advice about how to achieve a "glamour goth" look.
I thought "glamour goth" was a contradiction, but apparently not. It's quite the trend in make-up right now,with blood reds, ruby reds and blacks being the fashion.
There's also advice on hair styling and clothes too. I must say, I am beginning to like the sound of this, just a little bit...

A latex catsuit covers the skin, with red basque, hot pants, gloves and thigh high boots complete the devilling ensemble. Shame she's already married.

This story is over a week old, but I've only just discovered it, and quite frankly, I find the story, or perhaps I should say the column, quite ridiculous.
Hilary Alexander's fashion tastes are as conservative as her newspaper's political leanings. So the idea of fashion incorporating ideas from the world of fetish fill her with dread. Exhibit A...
But is Dolce & Gabbana's 21st-century take on the chastity belt an amusing wheeze – no more than the next logical step from the corset and stiletto for eye-wateringly restrictive clothing? Is it art? Or, more worryingly, does it represent the acceptable face of a form of "fashion torture" – the tip of the iceberg in terms of catwalk trends which have troubling overtones of a darker fetishism more painful than whittling your waist with a metal belt that digs into your ribcage?
However, the "modern society" trend that Pugh espouses is not accurate according to Dr Helen Nightingale, a clinical psychologist based in Cheshire (www.helennightingale.com) who says that manipulating women in this way goes back centuries.
Manipulating women??? Oh please! I thought that whole notion went out with women's lib! Times change, fashions change. PVC was thought back in the 60s to be the futuristic material, only to come a cropper at the hands of parafin heating. Now it's back. Shoulder pads were the in thing in 80s fashion, but the 90s fashions did away with them, now they're back too.
Have a read of the article, so you can see just how ludicrous the whole thing is. Fetish is not taking over fashion, but a part of it, and the sooner people accept that, the better for everyone.

Another strong factor for O'Reilly
TV Newser has reported the latest Cable News Ratings for Halloween night, and it seems that everybody's favourite right wing ghoul, Bill O'Reilly had a real treat that night. Over 2.9 million viewers tuned into his show in total at 8pm ET. That is an incredibly strong number, one of O'Reilly's best ever ratings.
Hannity and Colmes managed to hold onto just over 2 million of those viewers at 9pm, which again is incredibly good. Overall in Prime Time, Fox News Channel managed to register an impressive 2.125 million viewers, which again is very impressive.
Fox News Channel will never be my first choice for news and information, but unlike some on the left, I will never completely dismiss it out of hand either. Like any news source, especially newspapers, you have to learn what is fact and what is spin and propoganda. Fox News is very much the newspaper of the airwaves, with a distinct agenda and bias, one which can also be found in the New York Post or the Sun in the UK and Ireland. Learn to "read" and "decipher" that agenda, and you can understand what is truly important news and what is just editorialising.
